Training Objectives
- Learn to apply and communicate sustainable RDM measures
- Write project-specific data management plans
- Develop concepts for reproducibility and quality assurance of research data
- Get to know the research data infrastructure of TUM and national initiatives, e.g., NFDI
- Gain insights into key initiatives, projects, and developments in the RDM ecosystem
- Share and analyze best practices
Schedule, Procedure, Workload
- On-Campus Sessions:
Every second Monday of the month from 13:00 to 15:00
Dates: 12.10.2026, 09.11.2026, 18.01.2027, 08.02.2027
Place: Campus Munich, Meeting Room 0501.02.180
In short input sessions and in group work, you identify challenges of research data management.
- Self-Study Phases:
Between classroom sessions, you will apply the knowledge you have acquired to your field through self-study and project work.
Workload: approx. 60 hours per semester
- Online Reflection Sessions:
Once per month, Fridays from 10:00 to 11:30
Dates: 06.11.2026, 11.12.2026, 15.01.2027, 05.02.2027
Place: Online in MS Teams. Participants will receive the meeting link separately.
In the reflection sessions, you will share your insights and derive concrete action recommendations.

Prerequisites
Prior Knowledge
- Mandatory: You are responsible for research data management in research projects, working groups, chairs, or schools.
- Recommended: You have attended our Research Data Management Essentials course or have other proven experience.
Certificate of Participation
Regular attendance at the sessions, self-study, and project work are prerequisites for receiving a certificate of participation. If you already know of any absences for valid reasons during the period mentioned above, please inform us early. An application is still possible.
