Research Data Management
TUM Research Data Management Strategy
TUM strives to handle research data transparently. This requires sustainable data management. In 2018, the university's board of management agreed on TUM Guidelines for Handling Research Data.
Tools
Document, manage, publish, and archive your research data efficiently using the University Library’s software solutions – developed to meet the needs of researchers at TUM.
TUM DataTagger – Organizing Data
Organize your research data with TUM DataTagger! The tool streamlines your research data management: easily upload, structure, version, and securely share data within your team – with flexible access control and full DFG compliance. Ideal for efficient, interdisciplinary collaboration.
TUM eLabFTW – Documenting Data
Document your research with TUM eLabFTW, the electronic lab notebook (ELN) for intuitive research documentation at TUM. Teams can share timestamped and signed lab entries and resources. With granular access controls and a secure web-based service, the ELN is ideal for collaborative research – flexible, transparent, and reliable.
