The University Library maintains a dynamic network of national and international collaborations. Engaging with libraries, institutions, and professional communities fosters new perspectives and innovative approaches to librarianship.
Committee Work
The university library actively contributes to shaping the future of the library world through its involvement in the following associations, alliances, and organizations:
- We support nationwide projects of the German Library Association (Deutscher Bibliotheksverband, DBV) and participate in internal working groups that address current and forward-looking issues for academic university libraries.
- As part of TU9, the alliance of leading German technical universities, we participate in several library working groups, including open access, research data, and information literacy. Additionally, TU9 libraries benefit from the nationwide exchange program "BibHop," which provides an opportunity for library staff to visit one another and share workflows, experiences, and challenges in a collegial environment.
- In the Bavarian Library Network (Bibliotheksverbund Bayern, BVB), we contribute to commissions and working groups focused on advancing a central infrastructure, synergies, efficiency, and innovation.
- Our staff members are also active in various commissions within the professional associations Verein Deutscher Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare (VDB) and Berufsverband Information Bibliothek e.V. (BIB), fostering professional exchange and advancing library services.
Professional Seminars & Lectures
The university library is committed to sharing knowledge and fostering professional development through specialized seminars and lectures.
We organize and host various events to advance expertise in the library and information science field. These include workshops, technical seminars, and guest lectures delivered by both internal experts and renowned professionals from the broader library community.
